Human

Humans have stayed closest to the history of the people of Fortitude and thus specialise in magic more than any other race. Their magicians are powerful and dangerous. At the same time Humans have learnt the arts of melee fighting and some have found the arts of deception useful in battle as aides to their magical skill.

Scholar

The Scholar is one of the fiercest mages in Dragon Empires. The Scholar specialises in area effect damage, be it at close range or at a distance and are easily spotted by the swathes of fiery destruction they cause. Their back up skills include Necromancy, which allows them to manipulate an enemy's health and metabolism, Leadership, which improves group effectiveness through improving resists, dodges and so on and Conjuration which (among other things), can summon a shield bubble, traps and summon healing totem poles.

The Skirmisher can also use Vision enhancement to make potential targets glow brighter, detects traps and can be employed to find those who are concealed. In combat the Shield skill can stun opponents, improve the chance to block and drain enemy energy.

But the Dragonblood are not the brainless barbarians some would like to portray them as. They can produce excellent leaders and brilliant team players and some have developed magical and healing skills with some proficiency. While their origins are shrouded in mystery, coming suddenly into Fortitude two generations after the Shadow, their current position at the heart of the fighting arm of many clans is much more concrete.

Disciple

The Disciple is a fighter whose powerful secondary abilities enable them to support themselves and their group when fighting gets tough. The Shadow have continued their secretive ways and specialise in all manner of deceptions and illusions. Their ability to blend in with the environment and to attack with their target unawares has meant they have often been employed as assassins or resorted to thievery when employment was scarce. As well as their roguish skills the Shadow can turn their hand to combat or magic if they so desire.

With Summoning as a primary skill the Conjuror is an impressive jack-of-all trades. Able to deal damage at range with their Mysticism skill and close up with their Philology skill their Summoning skill is where they are truly unique. Summoning allows the conjurer to bring friendly creatures into existence to fight for the caster.
